Gyllenhaal in Talks for 'Prisoners'


Los Angeles, Sep 26 (IANS): Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly in talks to star in Alcon Entertainment's crime drama "Prisoners".

The actor is in talks to play a detective investigating the kidnapping of a young girl. If all goes well, the Gyllenhaal will join actors Hugh Jackman and Melissa Leo in the film, which will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, reports variety.com.

The story revolves around a small-town carpenter whose young daughter and best friend are kidnapped. After the cops fail to find them, he takes the law into his own hands but in the process runs up against the big-city detective assigned to the case.

The film is likely to go on floors early 2013.
