You are right Blaan. We Mangaloreans change completely and tend to forget our culture. But Malayalis don't forget their culture even if he is a multi millionaire. This is the difference between a Mangalorean and a Malayali. I don't say that all Mangaloreans but many fall into this category. There is unity among Malayalis but we Mangaloreans always ready to pull fellow Mangalorean's leg and pull him down..

    Reshmi Salian,

Yes Indians Change their name. When we apply for citizenship we are given an opportunity to change our names. If we need to change our names to American names. Yes it is true Sandeep to Sandy. Harpeeth to Harry, Bharath to Birdy and so on. It is difficult for adult Indians to change accent, but kids do change easily and quickly.

    Reshmi Salian,
Malyalees do not change even if they go to Mars. Every time I meet a Malyalee, they ask me the same questions Malyalee yano, Yendha pair, Yevdey Naad. They think every Indian they meet are Malyalees, and came from Kerala. They have their own Malyalee Association and the same talk, same loongi, Malyalee pastor or priests and malyalam mass. But their kids do not like to speak in Malyalam, they will speak in English and Yesudas will come to sing for them once in a while. They still sell frozen fish, grated coconut, Kerala rice, topiaca, and boondhi laddu in their home without paying taxes. Watch the Youtube video "American Mallu". You will have a better picture.

Very Interesting. Richard Gere will meet Mammootty on the Red Carpet walking side by side. Richard Gere will wish Hai Mr. Mammootty, How are You doing Sir, where are you from. Mammootty will respond, Namaskaram, I am from Kerala instead of saying I am from India. Then Mammootty will ask Richard Gere, Hello Sir, Malyalee ya, Pair Yendh, Yevday Naad, Yellam Sugam alley. Then Richard Gere will respond to Mammootty, Naad States, Yellam Suggam, Aadh Shari. Richard Gere invites Mammootty, Hey Mr. Mammootty lets have some Lamb Chops and Beef Steak with French fries, Mammootty will respond, Sir, I am Okay with Motta Sett, Topiakko, and Moor Curry.
