India U-16 colts lose second friendly match


Dubai, Sept 12 (IBNS) The Indian National U-16 team presently training in Dubai for the final phase of the AFC U-16 Tournament later this month lost to UAE U-16 side 2-1 in a friendly match at the UAE F A Stadium.
The colts under Head Coach Colm Toal Joseph came back brilliantly after being a goal down in the 16th minute of the match when their opponents scored from the spot. Daniel Lalhlimpuia equalised in the 28th minute.

But UAE found the back of the net in the 36th minute to gain upper hand one more time. An eventful first half was followed by a goalless second half.

The Indian National Team U-16 play the same opponent in the third and last friendly on Friday (September 14) before heading into the tournament which starts September 22.

For the record, they beat U-17 Al Kaleej Academy 4-1 in the first friendly.

India have been clubbed in Group D with Uzbekistan, Syria and China in the final phase. India play Uzbekistan in their first match on September 23.
