Mumbai Metro Bridge Collapse Kills One

Mumbai, Sep 5 (IBNS): A person was killed and at least eight injured after when a section of an under-construction Metro bridge collapsed in Mumbai's Andheri area on Tuesday, September 4.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a pillar of the Metro bridge of the Andheri-Ghatkopar route collapsed, bringing down a 50-metre section.

 

Two fire engines and two ambulances were rushed to the spot.

The injured people were taken to a nearby hospital.

Heavy rains lashed Mumbai and Thane on Monday and disrupted normal life in the city.

Andheri is a suburb of Mumbai city.

A landslide was also reported from Chembur area of Mumbai.
