Olympics: London Pays Tribute to 7/7 Victims


London, Jul 28 (IANS): All of London paid tribute to the victims of the 7/7 terrorist attacks in the colourful opening ceremony of the 2012 Games at the Olympic Park here Friday.

There was a hushed, respectful, gently moving interlude as photos of the victims was displayed on the giant screen, a pause for breath amid the frantic festivities.

It was a solemn moment to remember those killed in the 7/7 attacks on London - which took place just a day after the Olympic Games were awarded to the city.

Four coordinated suicide attacks on the tube and bus network July 7, 2005, claimed 52 lives in London.
