Electric Shock Kills Former Junior Archery Champion


Chita (Russia), Jul 10 (IANS/RIA Novosti): A former World junior archery champion has been killed by electric shock, police said Tuesday.

Russian Ayur Abiduev, 23, was pronounced dead when admitted to hospital late Monday near the far eastern city of Chita, local police said.

The circumstances that led to his death were unclear.

Abiduev is listed as a gold medal winner in the 2007 junior indoor target archery World championships in Izmir, Turkey, on the archery website.

His social network page was flooded with messages of condolences.

He was not named among Russia's contingent for the London Olympics.
