Mumbai: Kannadiga Schools in Metro Excel in SSC Exams

Mumbai, Jun 14: The State Secondary School Certificate (SSC) announced the results of the examinations held for the academic year 2011–12 on Wednesday June 13. Girls excelled more than boys in the exams.  The state achieved results of 81.32 percent and the metro secured 88.94 percent.

S M Shetty High School, Powai, managed by metro-based Bunts Sangh secured 100 percent results, with a majority of students passed with distinction and first class, informed school managing committee secretary chartered accountant I R Shetty.  Karnataka Free Night High School, Ghatkopar, secured 77 percent and Nityanand Free Night High School, Worli, secured 71 percent, according to school-in-charge S M Shetty.

Karnataka Kannada School, Chembur, secured 99.24 percent, informed Karnataka Sangh president Prabhakar Shetty Bolar and honorary chief secretary Vishwanath S Shenava.



Jethwa K Dinesh, Bohra B Yashwant


Kannada Bhavan Society High School, Fort, secured 83.72 percent, informed honorary chief secretary Shekar M Amin.

VPM Kannada Medium High School, Mulund (East), secured 99.9 percent.  B C Jamuna was the topper with 85.45 percent and Jogu Vijaya was second with 84.20 percent.  VPM English Medium School secured 99.9 percent, informed honorary chief secretary Professor P M Kamath and principal Suguna Rao.

Kannada Medium High School, Wadala, managed by National Kannada Education Society secured 100 percent results.  Akshaya Metri, Kannada medium student, was the topper with 84 percent.  The English medium school secured 100 percent result.  Nazmeen Sheikh was the topper with 89.82 percent, informed school principal Saroja Rao.

Adi Shakti Kannada School, Majiwada–Thane secured 92.30 percent result.  Basamma Ladappagol was the topper with 88.20 percent amd Biradar Ramu was the second with 85.40 percnet.  Five students passed with distinct, ten students passed with first class, seven students passed with second class and two students passed with pass class, informed head teacher Vimala Karkera, chairman Jayaram G Shetty and secretary Vadiraj Shetty.

Guru Narayana Night High School, managed by metro-based Billawar Association, Prabhat Colony, Santa Cruz (East), secured 70 percent, informed Billawar Association honorary chief secretary Jyoti K Suvarna, and school betterment committee chairman Bannanje Ravindra Amin.

St Xavier’s High School that belongs to Ryan International Group secured 100 percent result, and Yashwant B Bohra was the topper with 92.55 percent. Jetwa K Dinesh was the second with 91.82 percent, besides most of Kannadiga students excelling in studies, informed principal Mariette Fernandes.
