Ukraine's Coach Blokhin Names Euro 2012 Squad

Kiev, May 30 (IANS): Ukraine's manager Oleg Blokhin announced his final squad for Euro 2012, trimming his initial choice from 26 players to 23 ahead of the June 8-July 1 tournament.

Goalkeeper Oleksandr Bandura, who lost a chance to make his international debut in Monday's 4-0 win against Estonia, was dropped along with defender Vitaliy Mandzuk and midfielder Taras Stepanenko.

During the championship Blokhin will rely mostly on players from the Ukrainian league, reported Xinhua.

Ukraine will kickoff its Euro 2012 campaign June 11, against Sweden.

Goalkeepers: Andrei Pyatov (Shakhtar Donetsk), Alexander Goryainov (Metalist Kharkiv), Maxim Koval (Dynamo Kiev).

Defenders: Yaroslav Rakitskiy(Shakhtar Donetsk), Oleksandr Kucher(Shakhtar Donetsk), Vyacheslav Shevchuk(Shakhtar Donetsk,) Taras Michalik (Dynamo Kiev), Eugene Khacheridi (Dynamo Kiev) Bogdan Butko (Illichivets Mariupol,), Evgeny Selin (Vorskla Poltava).

Midfielders: Oleksandr Aliev(Dynamo Kiev), Denis Garmash(Dynamo Kiev), Oleg Gusev(Dynamo Kiev), Andriy Yarmolenko(Dynamo Kiev), Eugene Konoplyanka (Dnepr Dnepropetrovsk), Ruslan Rotan (Dnepr Dnepropetrovsk), Sergei Nazarenko (Tavria Simferopol), Anatoliy Tymoshchuk (Bavaria Munich, Germany).

Forwards: Artem Milevsky(Dynamo Kiev), Andriy Shevchenko (Dynamo Kiev), Marko Devic((Metalist Kharkiv), Eugene Seleznev (Shakhtar Donetsk),Andriy Voronin (Dynamo Moscow).
