SRK Banned from Entering Wankhede for Five years

NEW DELHI, May 18 (TOI) : The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Friday banned Kolkata Knight Riders owner and superstar Shah Rukh Khan from entering the Wankhede stadium for five years after a rigid standoff between the two.

On Wednesday, the MCA filed a police complaint against the Bollywood star for abusing and assaulting its officials in an inebriated state; the Bollywood star, in turn, sought an apology from the association for security guards shoving his daughter and other kids around and its officials' "unpardonable" behaviour.

The conflict erupted around 11.30pm on Wednesday after Team Kolkata's 32-run rout of Team Mumbai. By many accounts, a large group of children accompanying Khan tried entering the stadium's field to play but were stopped by security personnel at the boundary line. Khan said the guards "manhandled" some children to hold them back and "touched little girls in the garb of security". This led to an argument, in which Khan and his associates allegedly abused and shoved MCA officials and security guards.

The MCA version differed greatly. In a complaint filed at Marine Drive police station, MCA secretary Nitin Dalal said Khan and his entourage "entered the ground without proper accreditation along with 15-20 boys". "When a young girl wished him... Mr Shah Rukh Khan abused her in most dirty and vulgar language (like f*** off)... an MCA watchman came forward and asked everyone to vacate the stadium. Shah Rukh charged at the watchman and hit him and continued to use abusive language like f*** MCA, f*** BCCI," the complaint asserted.

Based on the complaint, the police filed a non-cognizable offence against Khan and two of his associates and invoked Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code. The MCA's managing committee will meet at 11am on Friday to decide on a lifetime ban on Khan from Wankhede.

Several voices could be heard abusing one another on an audio clip of the Wednesday brawl, which went viral on the internet. At one point, an official can be heard telling Khan: "You talk properly." In response, Khan asks the official to "talk properly". Later, someone is heard saying: "T*** m** k* c****, m********."

In an impromptu press conference called at his home, Khan said that his children and their friends were playing with a ball near the field on Wednesday night when he saw from "upstairs that a security guard was manhandling them".

"It is unpardonable for security officials to physically touch little girls in the garb of security. I came downstairs to tell them not to misbehave with the children. It was the MCA officials who started the tirade, one gentleman came to the spot and said something in Marathi that is unrepeatable. That made me angry and if children with me are misbehaved with, I will behave this way time and again. Yes, I did get angry but I think the officials need to look at their own behaviour first."

Khan denied he was drunk - a claim made by MCA as well as by its member ACP Iqbal Shaikh - and dismissed the proposed ban from Wankhede, saying: "If this is the treatment that is meted out, I would not want to be there myself.... I will call Deshmukh. I will write a complaint about their behaviour." He also refuted allegations of him abusing a female fan. "It would be very small of me at this age and day to do something like that."

Like the Team Kolkata owner, the MCA too stuck to its guns. Its treasurer Ravi Savant said: "Shah Rukh Khan misbehaved and abused MCA security personnel as well as its officials, including our president, Vilasrao Deshmukh, after the match." Deshmukh added: "Despite (MCA) officials attempting to pacify him, Shah Rukh Khan attacked them and used abusive language. The MCA managing committee has recommended a ban and will take a final call."

'Khans' are acting in films as well as in real life due to blessing of 'underworld'. They do not carry talent whatsoever of there own as like Hrithik/Oberoi/Govinda/Akshaykumar.
Most of the casts made according to the needs of underworld having there own share.

AMITABH BACHAN IS A GOOD ACTOR AND HAS, HIS OWN STYLE OF ACTING, SHARUKH KHAN IS ALSO A GOOD ACTOR AND HAS HIS OWN STYLE. I DO NOT KNOW WHY PEOPLE ARE COMPARING THESE TWO ACTORS. BUT THESE TWO ACTORS ARE ENACTING THEIR ACTS LIKE LEGENDARY DILIP KUMAR WHICH ALL OF YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN. SO HERE PROBLEM IS DIFFERENT AND DONT COMPARE THEM.

AMITABH TOO HAS PERSONAL PROBLEMS AND HE WAS OPENELY FLIRTING WITH REKHA DESPITE HIS HAPPY MARRIAGE WITH JAYA. NO DOUBT HE IS GOOD ACTOR BUT HE TOO HAS SEVERAL PERSONAL PROBLEMS WHICH MEDIA IS NOT PROJECTING BECAUSE HE IS BANIYAS. DONT TALK RELIGION HERE EVERY IS LIKE A MOON AND HAS DARK SIDE WHICH NEVER SHOWS TO ANYBODY.

Unfortunately some comments are prejudice, biased, defame him/ support him because he is SRK not on the factual findings.

Religion is opium to society and those who support/defame SRK based on religion are the most crude people as they do not air their opinion as right or wrong but, they are prejudice.

There is no fire without smoke. Usually one will comment based on the visual recording or on media report.

First of all Mumbai Indians lost to Kolkatta and the Wankade stadium security personnel who majority are marati might have found it very difficult to digest the loss of MI to kolkatta/ SRK team.

One should understand the Bombay security/police mindset too. Definitely they have misbehaved with SRK/his supporters/ children. Who has instigated SRK is nobody answering the question and police personnel are quiet on this question.

Standing against odd situations and fighting for rights with the security personnel rude attitude, culture is what SRK has done, if it is wrong, please tell what is right then. Is it only security personnel has the right to abuse SRK in front of the public? They can mis behave with children too ?

In spite of SRK lost his cool while fighting for the wrong with the security personnel, still I appreciate his guts because only few has the courage to stand and raise the voice. Majority are like impotent character, sit with 4 walls, just accept the situation and never confront for rights & justice. I am not at all a fan of SRK.

This 5 year ban done by MCA authorities might be right or wrong, this is beyond my scope of commenting. But taking into situation & the commotion created by the security personnel against SRK & vice versa, it is wise on the part of SRK not to enter MCA stadium for the remaining matches of IPL 5 at Wankhede stadium.

Anyone observed the way Shah Rukh makes fun and insult senior actors & people on major stage shows?. His public behaviors is very very bad. Salman Khan has beaten up by public in Kaup in 1990s for teasing a local girl/student and so on .If they are great actors they should behave properly. 70s,80s actors has no such issues .

I feel too much of unnecessary publicity has been awarded to Khan over the years.I blame the media for this. This is the reason for Khan's arrogance.

Amitab Bhachan was great but never behaved like this. One can make out that Amitab has more class than Khan and can gauge the stock he comes from.

Looking at what happened at the Wankhade stadium ,Khan could be equated to a refrap and the type of background he comes from.

    May better sense prevail.

Nice decision MCA. Very very bad gesture from a person known as king of bollywood. People like Shahrukh should conduct infront of the society in a good manner with moral. Lots of youngsters are following him as a role model. Smoking in public places and indulging such a behavior in ground is not for star's stature. Shahrukh should take a lesson from super star Rajni(kant) how to behave in public despite his gigantic stardom.
