Germany not to Bid for Euro 2020

Berlin, Apr 28 (IANS): The German Football Federation (DFB) will not bid for the 2020 European Championships, ruling out the speculation of a bid.

DFB president Wolfgang Niersbach announced the decision after a board meeting here Friday.

"After we hosted the 2006 and the 2011 (women's) World Cups, other nations have the right to play host," Niersbach was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

Poland and Ukraine will co-host the Euro 2012 in June, and four years later, France will host the next edition.
