Roopam Sharma New Secretary of Delhi Basketball Association


New Delhi, Apr 9 (IANS): Basketball Federation of India (BFI) chief executive Roopam Harish Sharma was elected honorary secretary of the Delhi Basketball Association (DBA).

Roopam was unanimously elected in the executive committee meeting of the DBA held last week. Roopam replaces her husband Harish Sharma, who passed away in February after prolonged illness.

Roopam said on behalf of the BFI that she would extend all the support needed to facilitate the functioning of the DBA.

"The additional responsibilities conferred on me by the DBA, it will be my duty to work with the utmost sincerity and dedication to bring in positive initiatives to promote basketball in Delhi," Roopam said in a statement.

"I will remain committed to cater to the challenges at all times but most importantly, I look forward to working in a cohesive manner to take the game forward," she said.
