Mumbai: Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh Celebrates ‘Mahaveer Jayanti’

Mumbai, Apr 6: Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh celebrated ‘Mahaveer Jayanti’ at Pejavar Mutt auditorium, Prabhat Colony, Santa Cruz (East), on Thursday April 5.

The chief priest Mahipal Shaha performed various religious celebrations during ‘Mahaveer Jayanti’.

Mahipal Shaha, in his message to the devotees, said that the celebrations should not be restricted to one day.  “The ideals and teachings of Bhagwan Mahaveer have to be practiced every day to set an example for new generations to lead a meaningful life,” he said.

Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh president B Muniraj Jain presided over the stage programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Jain stressed on the message of Bhagwan Mahaveer that is ‘live and let others live’.  “Non-violence is the essence of Jainism. Truth and pardon are worthy deeds, while ego destroys the soul.  The good deeds will have rewards,” he said.

Akhila Karnataka Jain Sangh vice-president Loknat S Jain, secretary Pavanajaya Ballal, joint secretaries Vardhaman Jain and Santosh Jain, treasurer P Anantaraj Jain, and joint treasurer Sampat Kumar Jain were present on the dais.

Financial help was distributed to the community’s disabled and others on the same occasion.

Uttam Kumar and group presented devotional music while the women and children presented various cultural programmes.

Committee members Ajit Kumar Jain, Rajavarma Jain, Pratibha Vaidya, Shishupal Jain, Yuvaraj Jain, Jinaraj Gowda, Jaya A Jain, Subaschandra Puvani, and Santosh Kumar Jain were present on the occasion.
