Lightning strike claims 30-year-old in Kasargod

Kasargod, Oct 7: A 30-year-old man died after being struck by lightning at Pandi Balavanthadka near Delampady, under the limits of Adhur police station, at around 7:30 pm on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Naufal (30), son of Arab and Nafeesa, residents of Mayilankotta in Uyithadka, Kuntar.

The incident occurred when Naufal was visiting his wife’s house at Pandi Balavanthadka. He was immediately rushed to the Mullierya Cooperative Medical Centre. However, doctors declared that he had died by then.

Naufal was working at a juice shop in Thiruvananthapuram. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Adhur police have registered a case and are investigating.
