Mangaluru: Social outreach programme held at St Theresa’s School in honour of Patron’s Day

Media Release

Mangaluru, Oct 3: As part of the Patron’s Day celebrations, St Theresa’s School organised a meaningful social outreach programme inspired by the life and teachings of St Therese of Lisieux. Her example of performing small acts with great love was reflected in the students’ sincere efforts to reach out to the less fortunate.

The students brought biscuits, toast and rusks, which were later distributed to about twenty-four institutions and homes in Mangaluru and the surrounding areas. This initiative helped the children understand that Patron’s Day is not limited to celebration and entertainment, but is also an occasion to show compassion, share with others and respond to the needs of the community.

The distribution programme was carried out under the guidance and support of the principal Sr Lourdes, PTA vice president, Linda Pereira, along with the PTA members, teachers and students. Their combined efforts ensured that the collected food items reached those who needed them. What began as a simple contribution became a heartfelt expression of care, concern and solidarity.

The outreach activity offered the students a practical lesson in generosity, social responsibility and service. It encouraged them to look beyond their own needs and become more aware of the challenges faced by people who are less privileged and vulnerable.
