B-town Celebs Urge People to Support Earth Hour


Mumbai, Mar 31 (IANS): Bollywood celebrities, who always support noble causes, have once again come together for the Earth Hour and urge everyone to switch the lights off Saturday for an hour in the evening.

A worldwide event that started in 2007, Earth Hour is held on the last Saturday of March and urges people to turn off non-essential lights for an hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change.

The likes of Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan took to twitter to urge fans, friends and others to lend their support to it.

Amitabh Bachchan: "Earth Hour tomorrow ... from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM ... put off the power and electricity ... save the Earth ... I WILL !!"

Dia Mirza: "Lights out between 8:30pm and 9:30pm tonight. Pledge to reduce the Earth's carbon footprint on Earth hour."

Akshay Kumar: "Turn off all lights for one hour today from 8.30 to 9.30 pm for a greener tomorrow. Small act, big impact."

Abhishek Bachchan: "Guys remember, Earth Hour today. So switch off all your lights from 8.30 to 9:30 pm."

Poonam Pandey: "EARTHHOUR today. Please switch off all lights tonight 8.30 to 9.30. better tomorrow.

Neha Dhupia: "Turn off your lights for one hour on March 31, 2012 from 8:30p.m. to 9:30."
