Mangaluru, Sep 7: The third phase of the signature campaign under the ‘Go Samman Ahvaan Abhiyan’, aimed at creating awareness about the protection and service of cows, was launched for the Mangaluru–Udupi districts at Kadri Shri Yogeshwara Math in the presence of revered saints.
The campaign was inaugurated by the saints by offering go gras (fodder) to a cow and its calf.
Speaking on the occasion, Param Pujya Yogikaustubha Karmayogi Shri Shri Mohandas Paramahamsa Swamiji of Shridham, Manila Shri Mahalakshmi Kshetra, said that protecting cows is essential for safeguarding the country’s existence and agricultural system.
He stressed the need to promote organic farming and cow-based agricultural practices. He said cows are an integral part of the agricultural system and that their resources contribute to soil fertility and agricultural prosperity.
“Amid the modern lifestyle, we should not forget the importance of agriculture and natural resources,” he said, urging people to understand the significance and affection associated with the cow and consider its protection a collective responsibility of society.
Kadri Shri Yogeshwara Math’s Shri Shri Nirmalanath Ji Maharaj, Godham Pathmeda, Rajasthan’s Shri Shri Ravindrananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj, Shri Sai Eshwar Guruji, Shri Shri Shri Gopalananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj, Shri Shri Kalika Tanaya Umamaheshwara Swamiji, Vishwa Hindu Parishad state joint secretary Sharan Pumpwell, Goseva Gatividhi Pranta convener Praveen Saralaya, State team coordinator Jeevan Dodda Ballapura, Sambhag In-charge Gajendra, Go Samman Committee district in-charge Ashoka Ilanthila and Goparivar Pramukh Udayashankar Bhat were present.
Gangadhar Permanki, Shailaja Bhat, Ramesh Bhat, Shashishekar, Heramba Shastri and Uday Bhat were also present.
