Mangaluru, Sep 7: Milagres Central School celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and gratitude at Milagres College Auditorium on September 5 to honour the dedicated teachers who play an important role in shaping the lives of students.

The programme was organised as a tribute to the invaluable contribution of teachers and to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the renowned philosopher, scholar, and former President of India.

The programme began with a prayer, seeking God’s blessings for the celebration. This was followed by a warm welcome speech delivered by Komal Jareda of grade VI, who greeted the teachers and students and welcomed everyone to the programme.

Next, Bhavish S Shetty spoke about the significance of Teachers’ Day. A floral tribute was offered to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a mark of respect and remembrance. The students then presented greeting cards to the teachers, accompanied by a heartfelt wishing song. The school principal Fr Joseph Uday Fernandes addressed the gathering with an inspiring message on the occasion.

The celebration continued with an entertaining skit and dance performance presented by the students. Following the cultural programme, prizes were distributed to the teachers who emerged as winners in the games conducted as part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations.

The principal honoured the teachers who had availed the least number of leaves during the previous academic year. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Aysha Iqra of grade 10B. The entire programme was expertly anchored by the head boy, Abdul Hameed Rhafih.

The Teachers’ Day celebration was a memorable occasion filled with gratitude, joy, respect, and appreciation. It provided the students with an opportunity to express their heartfelt thanks to their teachers for their constant guidance, encouragement, and support.
