Mumbai, Sep 6: A routine flight turned into an unforgettable fan moment for actress Kayadu Lohar when she unexpectedly found herself seated next to superstar Rajinikanth.
Kayadu recently recalled the encounter, revealing that she initially had no idea the passenger beside her was the legendary actor. She had changed her seat after another passenger suggested a switch, only to realise later that she was sitting next to Rajinikanth.
The actress said she became extremely nervous after recognising him and spent much of the journey pretending to sleep so that she would not disturb his privacy. She later learnt that Rajinikanth had deliberately booked the adjacent seat to avoid having another passenger seated beside him.
Before the flight landed, Kayadu finally gathered the courage to speak to the superstar. During their conversation, Rajinikanth asked her about director Ashwath Marimuthu, with whom she had worked in Dragon. Kayadu also told him that she hoped to share screen space with him someday.
The encounter became even more memorable when she managed to take a selfie with Rajinikanth. She later shared the picture on Instagram, calling the experience “surreal” and saying she was still dreaming about the unexpected meeting.
Kayadu also recalled that seeing Rajinikanth immediately reminded her of the song ‘Sundari’ from his 1991 blockbuster Thalapathi.
Calling the experience surreal, Kayadu said she hoped that meeting Rajinikanth as a fan could one day lead to an opportunity to work with him.
She also poked fun at herself while sharing the selfie, joking that she “look[s] like a potato” in the picture.
Kayadu gained wider recognition with Dragon and has since become part of several prominent projects across South Indian film industries. She is set to appear in Nani-starrer The Paradise and was recently seen in Idhayam Murali.
Her upcoming projects include Immortal, Suriya 48, I’m Game and Manjanathi, further strengthening her presence across the South Indian film industry.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is gearing up for Jailer 2, one of the most anticipated films in his upcoming lineup.
