Mangaluru, Sep 5: Milagres College of Nursing celebrated Onam 2026 with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour at the College Auditorium. The celebration brought together students and faculty to experience the rich cultural heritage and spirit of unity associated with the festival.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Merin, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Correspondent Fr Ivan Michel Rodrigues delivered the Onam message, highlighting the values of unity, harmony, prosperity and togetherness. Vice principal Jyothi also shared an Onam message with the gathering.

The occasion was graced by Fr Avith Pais, assistant parish priest; principal Dr Diana Lobo; and Diana Dlima, SNA advisor.

The arrival of Maveli, portrayed by Anup, added colour and excitement to the celebrations. The cultural programme featured a graceful Thiruvathira Dance, followed by vibrant dance performances by the first- and second-year students.

Various entertaining Onam games, including silent cup, biscuit eating, saree draping and tug of war, created an atmosphere of fun, laughter and healthy competition.

Anshel compered the programme, ensuring its smooth and lively conduct. The celebration concluded with a traditional Onam Sadhya, bringing the Milagres College of Nursing family together in the true spirit of Onam and strengthening the bonds of unity and togetherness.
