Gaza, Sep 1: At least four people were killed and several others wounded in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, health officials and medical sources said on Tuesday.

At least three people, including two children, were killed and eight others wounded in an Israeli drone attack in the al-Kateeba district west of Gaza City in northern Gaza, a medical source at al-Shifa Hospital told Al Jazeera.

Images circulated online showed smoke rising over the area and the sound of successive explosions following the attack.

Reporting from Gaza City, Al Jazeera correspondent Hani Mahmoud said he counted at least 13 drones in the area during the attack. "For 35 minutes there were nonstop attacks involving drones, three of them hovering at a dangerously low level," he said.

According to Mahmoud, security personnel on the ground reported spotting a group of special forces and said a direct exchange of fire took place. He described the situation as chaotic amid the intense aerial activity.

In central Gaza, a separate Israeli attack in Deir el-Balah killed at least one person, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said in a statement, without providing further details.

The Israeli military said it had struck several targets in Gaza, claiming the attacks were aimed at eliminating threats to its forces.

Israeli television station Channel 12 reported that explosions were heard across the Gaza Strip, while Palestinian news network Quds reported that missiles and quadcopter drones were used in the attacks.

According to the figures cited in the report, Israel has killed at least 1,320 Palestinians and injured more than 4,300 since the ceasefire in Gaza took effect in October 2025.
