Ramallah, Aug 26: Israeli soldiers prevented Knesset member Ofer Cassif from reaching a Palestinian family home in the occupied West Bank village of Qusra, where Israeli settlers have reportedly maintained a 17-day siege.

Cassif, a member of Israel's Knesset, had travelled to the village to reach the Palestinian family and show solidarity amid the ongoing blockade. Israeli soldiers stopped him from accessing the house, according to reports.

Despite the obstruction, Cassif eventually managed to reach the families and expressed his support for them.

The incident comes amid continuing tensions in the occupied West Bank, where Palestinian residents have reported increasing restrictions and attacks by Israeli settlers.

The reported siege in Qusra has left the Palestinian family facing prolonged restrictions on movement and access to their home. The presence of Israeli soldiers during Cassif's attempted visit further heightened tensions at the site.

Cassif has previously criticised Israeli government policies towards Palestinians and has participated in solidarity visits to Palestinian communities in the West Bank.
