Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 18: German chemical industry major HELM AG and New Delhi-based agrochemical company Parijat Industries (India) Ltd have announced a strategic collaboration covering digital commerce, branded crop protection products, technical manufacturing and international distribution.

The partnership will combine HELM’s global agricultural input portfolio and technology platforms, including its portfolio company PEAT GmbH, developer of the Plantix digital agriculture platform, with Parijat’s manufacturing capabilities, formulation expertise and international distribution network.

As part of the agreement, Parijat will acquire a retailer-focused digital commerce platform and an associated retailer database to improve procurement efficiency, market access and product distribution across key regions.

Parijat will also work with the Plantix team to use its farmer-connect and demand-generation capabilities, including the exclusive integration of selected features for direct-to-farmer marketing.

The collaboration will also introduce a new branded product line in India. Parijat and its subsidiary Leeds Lifesciences will have exclusive rights to use the HELM brand in the country. Parijat plans to launch HELM’s Plant Advantage Line, which includes biostimulants and biological products, in the Indian market.

Internationally, Parijat’s manufacturing and patented formulation development capabilities will support HELM’s global requirements. Parijat plans to develop technical manufacturing capabilities for proprietary molecules developed by HELM and establish itself as a toll-manufacturing partner for HELM’s global active ingredient and formulation requirements.

Uday Raj Anand, CEO of domestic business at Parijat Industries, said the partnership with HELM and Plantix was an important step towards the company’s vision of using digital technologies for farmer advisory services and distribution in the agrochemical industry.

He said the opportunity to introduce products carrying the HELM brand in India was an exciting development and reflected Parijat’s global reputation for trust and quality.

The collaboration will also provide Parijat access to new international markets, with the company planning to expand its own products into Latin America, Canada and Southeast Asia through HELM’s established distribution network.

Parijat also plans to use HELM’s sourcing network to improve procurement competitiveness and leverage the German company’s network of multinational innovators to position itself as a product co-development partner in India.

Shivraj Anand, CEO of international business at Parijat Industries, said the partnership would allow both companies to leverage their sourcing and distribution strengths across continents and create solutions for farmers.

HELM AG CEO Stephan Schnabel said partnerships were based not only on commercial opportunities but also on trust, shared values and the ability to create greater value together.

Schnabel said HELM had found a strong partner in Parijat, citing the Indian company’s expertise in distribution, product development and manufacturing, along with its entrepreneurial approach and commitment to ethical and values-based business.

He described India as an important market for the future of agriculture and said combining HELM’s global network and experience with Parijat’s local capabilities could create new opportunities in the sector.
