Mumbai, Aug 10: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday asserted that no force can obstruct India's march towards becoming a global superpower.

Addressing a 'Tiranga Rally' organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of Independence Day, Fadnavis said India had emerged as the world's fourth-largest economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said India was competing globally in Information Technology (IT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, while also achieving historic milestones such as landing a spacecraft on the Moon's south pole.

Fadnavis delivered a spirited address during the rally and also sang a patriotic song.

Reflecting on the large turnout, he said he could see two oceans — the Indian Ocean in front of him and a vast ocean of the Tricolour created by citizens.

He declared that as long as the sun and moon exist, the national flag would continue to fly high.

Noting that India now has the world's largest youth population, Fadnavis said certain foreign forces were apprehensive about the country's rapid progress and were attempting to interfere in its internal affairs to halt its growth.

He warned such external forces that they did not have the strength to stop India's youth or obstruct the country's rise towards superpower status.

Emphasising the need to rise above caste, creed and religion, Fadnavis urged citizens to work together over the next two decades to realise Prime Minister Modi's vision of a fully developed India, or Viksit Bharat, by 2047.

Drawing a parallel with August 9, 1942, he said the historic movement of that period was centred on the 'Quit India' call against British rule, while today's call was for a 'Do or Die' revolution for a developed India, signalling to anti-India forces to leave.

Extending his greetings ahead of Independence Day, Fadnavis called upon citizens to carry the Tricolour forward with a united resolve towards national progress.
