Bengaluru, Aug 4: The Konkani Kutam Whitefield Cultural Association (KKWCA), recently registered in April 2026 and affiliated with the Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA), successfully held its first General Body Meeting on July 19, 2026, at Holy Cross School, Whitefield, Bangalore.
The meeting marked a significant milestone in the association's journey of bringing together the Konkani Catholic community in Whitefield, Bangalore, while preserving its language, culture, traditions, and faith. The event witnessed an encouraging response from members, reflecting the growing strength and unity of the community.
The programme commenced with prayer, followed by a welcome address and the formal introduction of the newly elected Office Bearers, who shared the association's vision and commitment towards promoting spiritual, cultural, educational, social, and charitable initiatives for the benefit of the community.
Adding a touch of humor and entertainment to the occasion, Richard D'Souza presented an engaging skit that was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience and received enthusiastic appreciation.
Members also reflected on KKWCA's journey over the past two decades—from celebrating an annual Monthi Fest Mass to the introduction of the monthly Konkani Mass, Lenten Way of the Cross, Konkani Retreats, and finally achieving official registration in April 2026 and affiliation with the Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA), marking a new chapter in the association's growth.
The gathering concluded with fellowship over a sumptuous spread of traditional Mangalorean delicacies, giving members an opportunity to reconnect, interact, and strengthen the bonds of friendship and community.
The association expressed its gratitude to all members, volunteers, parish leaders, and well-wishers for their unwavering support and invited the Konkani Catholic community of Whitefield, Bangalore, to actively participate in its future initiatives as KKWCA continues its mission of preserving Konkani heritage while fostering faith, fellowship, and service.
