Bantwal, Aug 3: The body of a man who had gone missing near his house in Rai village on Saturday night was found on Monday morning after an intensive search operation.

The deceased has been identified as Jeevan Pinto (48), a resident of Panchakodi in Rai village. He had gone missing in a stream near his house on Saturday night.

Despite heavy rain and strong water flow, personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services Department, the NDRF, and local residents carried out continuous search operations. Following the sustained efforts, his body was found on Monday morning near Pambadagadde in Arala village.

It is suspected that on the night of August 1, while walking to his uncle's house, Jeevan Pinto slipped and fell into the stream while crossing a mini bridge.

The body was later retrieved, and a case has been registered at the Bantwal Rural police station.

They are the voters... and TAX payers to the Govt. There are so many children with poor background living in villages in our Dist., are crossing through similar bridges while going to school in raining season. This incident is not a new one , since many decades no any development. These are the important issues so the concerned authorities have to give immediate attention instead of neglecting. Life is precious!

Please avoid crossing narrow bridges without handrails. Don’t take unnecessary risks. Your safety comes first. 🙏
