Shiv Sena ministers to meet Shinde amid performance review, reshuffle buzz

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Jul 28: Amid fast-paced political developments following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union education minister and growing speculation over a Cabinet reshuffle in Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has convened a crucial meeting of all Shiv Sena ministers after Tuesday's state Cabinet meeting.

According to sources, the meeting will be held in the committee hall on the seventh floor of Mantralaya, where Shinde is expected to conduct a comprehensive review of the performance of each minister and their respective departments over the past one-and-a-half years.

Apart from reviewing major policy decisions taken by the ministers, Shinde is also likely to assess the implementation status of those decisions. The meeting will also examine the progress made by various departments in achieving the targets set for 2026-27 under the 'Developed Maharashtra-2047' vision.

The review assumes significance amid reports that several Shiv Sena MLAs have complained to Shinde that development works in their constituencies have not been carried out effectively by certain departments. Sources said these complaints prompted the Deputy Chief Minister to convene the review meeting.

The meeting also comes against the backdrop of speculation about a possible reshuffle in the Shiv Sena's ministerial ranks. Political circles believe that ministers found to have underperformed could face strict action following the review.

All Shiv Sena ministers have reportedly been instructed to attend the meeting with detailed department-wise reports on key decisions and the status of their implementation.

Political observers are closely watching the meeting, as Shinde's directions and possible decisions are expected to provide clarity on the government's future course and the possibility of changes in the state Cabinet.
