Beltangady, Jul 23: Dharmasthala police have registered a case against two persons following a complaint alleging that they arrived at a house in Shibaje, threw stones at the roof tiles, abused the residents, issued life threats and allegedly took away cash from the premises.
The complaint was filed by Eliyamma Thomas (60), a resident of Shibaje, Beltangady.
According to her complaint, the incident took place on the night of July 10, when she was at her residence with her family members.

The accused, identified as Manoj N K and Raju, allegedly came near the house, pelted stones at the roof tiles and used abusive words. They are also accused of threatening the complainant's son with dire consequences.
The complaint further alleged that Manoj took away Rs 2,900 in cash kept on the verandah of the house.
Based on the complaint, Dharmasthala police station has registered a case in crime no 50/2026 under section 329(3) read with section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Police have taken up further investigation into the case.
