Glasgow, Jul 23: India has reaffirmed its commitment to building safe, inclusive and equitable sports systems that uphold human rights and create opportunities for all.
Addressing the Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting in Glasgow, Scotland, Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya outlined India's vision for strengthening cooperation among Commonwealth nations in sports governance, athlete welfare and institutional capacity building.
Mandaviya highlighted the country's governance reforms, robust anti-doping framework and flagship initiatives such as Khelo India, Fit India and the ASMITA League, saying they are helping nurture grassroots talent, increase women's participation in sports and promote a vibrant sporting culture across the country.

He said these initiatives have played a key role in expanding access to sports while encouraging greater inclusivity and excellence at all levels.
Reiterating India's ambition to host the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games, Mandaviya said Ahmedabad is fully prepared to stage a historic, sustainable and memorable edition of the Games.
The minister said India remains committed to working closely with Commonwealth nations to strengthen sports ecosystems, promote athlete development and advance shared goals through collaboration and innovation.
