Mangaluru, Jul 20: A 20-year-old labourer was found murdered and his body recovered from a well near Krishnapura Math at Chokkabettu within the limits of Surathkal police station on Sunday night, July 20.
The deceased has been identified as Mallikarjun (20), a native of Kushtagi taluk in Koppal district. He was working as a labourer and staying in a rented house owned by Rekha near Chokkabettu Math.
According to police, Mallikarjun's body was found in a well in a suspected murder case.





His elder brother, Somanath (21), who was residing in the same rented accommodation, has been taken into custody and is being questioned in connection with the incident. Police sources said Somanath is suspected to be the prime accused in the case.
Surathkal police have also detained another youth from the neighbouring house for questioning as part of the investigation.
Further investigation is underway.
