Mangaluru, Jul 8: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, who had recently come home on leave, lost his life in a tragic road accident near KPT on Wednesday, July 8.
The deceased has been identified as Seetharama Gowda, a resident of Koila. He was currently posted at the Central Jail in Jammu and had arrived in his hometown on leave on July 3. On July 7, he had visited his family home in Koila to hand over documents related to SIR.

According to the police complaint lodged by his wife Rohini, Seetharama Gowda was riding his motorcycle bearing registration number KA-21-K-7558 from his house in Koila on Wednesday. At around 3:40 pm, as he reached near the Radiant Star Hotel close to KPT on National Highway 66, he met with an accident.
Rohini received a phone call from an unidentified person informing her about the road accident and asking her to rush to A J Hospital immediately. Upon reaching the hospital, she was informed that her husband had sustained critical injuries and had breathed his last before reaching the medical facility.
The complainant's nephew Likhith, who works in Mangaluru, visited the accident spot on his way to the hospital and gathered preliminary information regarding the incident, which he shared with the family.
In her written complaint, Rohini has requested the police to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain whether the motorcycle self-skidded or was hit by another vehicle. Following the complaint, the Traffic East police registered a case under Crime No. 91/2026 under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) read with Sections 184, 134(a)&(b), and 187 of the Indian Motor Vehicles (IMV) Act.
