Mumbai, Jul 8: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday unveiled the first-look poster of his biopic, 'Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story', starring Rajkummar Rao, on the occasion of his 54th birthday.
The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on May 14, 2027, over an extended holiday weekend.
The first-look poster recreates one of the most iconic moments in Indian cricket history, depicting Rajkummar Rao as Ganguly celebrating India's memorable NatWest Trophy triumph over England at Lord's in 2002 by waving his jersey from the famous balcony.

India had scripted a record chase of 326 runs in the final, then the highest successful run chase in One-Day International cricket, with Ganguly's celebration becoming one of the defining images of Indian cricket.
The biopic traces Ganguly's journey from a talented young batsman to one of India's most influential captains, highlighting his role in reshaping Indian cricket through his leadership and vision.
Sharing his excitement, Ganguly said unveiling the poster on his birthday made the occasion even more special.
"Birthdays are always special, and unveiling the first look of my biopic 'Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story' today makes this one even more memorable. It is indeed the best birthday gift ever. The poster brings back a highly cherished moment from my cricketing journey. Rajkummar has approached the role with great sincerity and commitment. I wish him and the entire team my very best, and I hope fans enjoy the movie on the big screen on May 14, 2027," he said in a statement.
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the film is produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
