Mangaluru, Jul 1: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, organized a placard making competition on June 29 in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse. The event was conducted for the students of BBA Aviation Management and BBA Aviation Logistics and Management with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle.
The competition was based on the theme ‘Say No to Drugs – Choose Life,’ encouraging students to express their thoughts and social commitment through creative artwork.
A total of 42 teams, with five members in each team, actively participated in the competition and showcased their creativity, teamwork, and dedication towards spreading an important social message.





The participants prepared meaningful and visually impactful placards highlighting the dangers of drug abuse, the importance of making positive life choices, and the need to build a society free from substance addiction. Each placard reflected the students’ awareness, imagination, and concern towards the well-being of individuals and the community.
The winners of the competition were Pragathi & team, who secured the first prize. The first runners-up position was secured by Swapna & team and Krishnanjana & team, while Chasvith & team secured the second runners-up position.
The competition was successfully organized under the guidance and support of the Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, SWO, HoDs, NSS coordinator, faculty members, student coordinators and staff members. Their encouragement and coordination ensured the smooth execution of the event. The initiative by the Institute of Aviation Studies reflected Srinivas University’s commitment towards nurturing socially responsible students and promoting awareness about significant issues affecting society.
