Mangaluru: 26-year-old painter dies after car rams scooter near Mulki bus stand

Mangaluru, Jun 14: A 26-year-old youth lost his life after his scooter was violently hit and dragged by a car near the Mulki bus stand.

The deceased has been identified as Shashikumar (26), a resident of Kakva near Mulki. He was a painter by profession.

The mishap occurred when Shashikumar was attempting to cross the national highway on his scooter. A speeding car travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi rammed into the two-wheeler. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car dragged the scooter along the road for some distance, leaving Shashikumar with critical head and leg injuries.

Local residents rushed to the spot and immediately helped shift the grievously injured youth to a nearby hospital. However, he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
