New Delhi, Jun 10: A Delhi court on Wednesday extended the police custody of four men accused of being part of an alleged Pakistan-backed terror network for another five days, allowing investigators additional time to probe suspected cross-border links and the broader conspiracy behind the case.

The accused — Harvinder Singh, Manjeet Singh, Gagandeep Singh and Ang Kami Lama — were produced before the Patiala House Court after the expiry of their earlier remand granted to the Delhi Police Special Cell.

Accepting the Special Cell's request, the court permitted continued custodial interrogation, noting that the investigation remains at a crucial stage. The case has been registered under multiple provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), including those related to terrorist activities, terror financing and criminal conspiracy.

During the proceedings, investigators informed the court that they are examining the alleged role of Pakistan-based handlers and attempting to uncover the full extent of the network's operations within India. The police argued that further questioning of the accused is necessary to identify additional associates and establish the alleged international connections of the module.

According to the investigation, the four accused were allegedly operating under the direction of individuals based in Pakistan and were involved in plans linked to terror-related activities targeting locations in India.

The case revolves around a suspected terror module that authorities claim had connections with the D-Company network led by underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim.

Delhi Police said coordinated raids conducted across Delhi and several northern states resulted in the arrest of the accused and the seizure of a significant cache of weapons and ammunition. Recovered items reportedly included Pakistan-made hand grenades, Glock pistols and live cartridges.

Investigators further alleged that members of the module had conducted reconnaissance of sensitive sites, including government facilities, security establishments and prominent religious locations in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and parts of Punjab.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking to establish the alleged operational structure, funding channels and overseas links of the suspected network.
