Srinivas University, SIT bag three international awards at Global Education Summit in Thailand

Mangaluru, Jun 10: Bringing pride to Karnataka and India's higher education sector, Srinivas University and Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT), Mangaluru, have achieved a remarkable international milestone by securing three prestigious awards at the Global Education Summit 2026 held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The international recognition was announced during a press conference held at Hotel Srinivas, Mangaluru, in the presence of senior university officials and academic leaders.

The institutions were honoured for their outstanding contributions to higher education, research excellence, innovation, industry-integrated technical education, and student development.

Three Prestigious International Awards

The awards received at the summit include:

  • Global Excellence Award in Higher Education and Research – Srinivas University
  • Excellence in Industry-Integrated Technical Education Award – Srinivas Institute of Technology
  • Visionary Education Leader Award – Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology

The Global Education Summit was organised in association with leading international institutions, including the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), Siam University, Bangkok University, and Eduskills Foundation.

Over the years, Srinivas University and Srinivas Institute of Technology have emerged as leading centres of academic excellence, research, entrepreneurship, skill development, and industry-integrated learning. The institutions have established collaborations with global technology leaders such as TCS, Microsoft, IBM, Google, Intel, and UiPath to enhance student employability and industry readiness.

The university has introduced several future-oriented academic programmes, including Karnataka's first BTech programme in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, along with specialised courses in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cloud Computing, Ethical Hacking, Cyber Security, and Marine Engineering.

Srinivas University has made significant contributions to research and innovation, achieving 593 copyrights, 28 granted patents, more than 157 patent publications, and over 2,000 research papers published in reputed international journals.

The institution has also secured research funding exceeding ?15 crore from prestigious organisations such as AICTE, ISRO, DST, and KSCST, reflecting its growing influence in the global research ecosystem.

Representing the institution at the summit were Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, and Dr Dheeraj Hebri, Training and Placement Officer.

The summit brought together distinguished academicians, policymakers, researchers, and industry experts from India and Thailand to discuss the future of higher education, workforce development, academic mobility, innovation, and industry-driven learning.

As part of the programme, the Srinivas University delegation visited leading universities in Thailand and held discussions on student exchange programmes, faculty mobility, international internships, collaborative research projects, innovation ecosystems, and global placement opportunities.

The international recognition further strengthens Srinivas University's position as one of India's emerging globally connected institutions committed to academic excellence, research-driven education, industry collaboration, and student success.

The achievements were presented during the press conference attended by chancellor Dr Srinivas Rao, vice chancellor Dr Sathyanarayana Reddy, registrar Dr Anil, registrar (development) Dr Ajay, registrar (evaluation) and principal Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, and training & placement officer Dr Dheeraj Hebri.
