Bengaluru, June 7: Police have moved to subject accused Lohith to narcoanalysis and lie detector tests in connection with the recovery of gelatin sticks found along the route of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit in Bengaluru.
Lohith, who was earlier arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat call to the police control room during the Prime Minister’s city visit, has denied any role in the recovery of gelatin sticks and other materials found near the Art of Living premises under Kaggalipura police station limits.
Police said the accused is being probed for both the bomb threat call and the discovery of explosive material, with investigators examining whether there is any linkage between Lohith and the seized items. However, during interrogation, he has maintained that he has no connection with the gelatin sticks case.

Kaggalipura police had approached the court seeking permission to conduct narcoanalysis and polygraph tests on the accused to ascertain the truth. The court has granted permission, following which police have decided to proceed with both scientific examinations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bengaluru on May 10 to participate in various official programmes. On that day, around 8 am, accused Lohith allegedly called the police control room and issued a bomb threat, claiming explosives would be planted at Kempegowda International Airport and the Art of Living premises.
Following the alert, police launched a swift operation and arrested Lohith in Koramangala, where he was taken into custody for questioning.
Subsequently, during searches linked to the threat call, police recovered two gelatin sticks and other electronic components placed inside a cotton box along Vadera Halli Road under Kaggalipura police station limits near the Art of Living area.
