Mangaluru: Milagres Central School inaugurates new academic year

Mangaluru, Jun 5: Milagres Central School, Mangaluru, inaugurated the academic year 2026–2027 with a meaningful and inspiring programme attended by school manager Fr Ivan Michael Rodrigues, campus director Dr Alwyn Serrao, principal Fr Joseph Uday Fernandes, staff, and students.

The programme began with a grand procession led by the school band, followed by a prayer service and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. In his welcome address, principal Fr Joseph Uday Fernandes encouraged students to begin the new academic year with dedication and enthusiasm.

A special highlight of the event was the introduction and felicitation of the new correspondent, Fr Ivan Michael Rodrigues, along with the welcoming of newly appointed staff members.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Alwyn Serrao motivated students to recognise their potential, listen to their teachers, strengthen their values, and practise civic responsibility.

Fr Ivan Michael Rodrigues extended his blessings and urged students to respect their parents and teachers, make good use of opportunities, and take pride in being part of the Milagres family.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and the school anthem, marking a positive and energetic beginning to the new academic year.
