Mumbai: Janet Lawrence D’Souza Appointed Congress Party Observer in Karnataka

Janet Lawrence D’Souza was appointed by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi as observer to assess the party’s standing and suggest a panel of candidates in 18 assembly segments of Bangalore central and Bangalore north parliamentary constituencies in Karnataka state.  AICC chief secretary Madhusudan Mistry issued a letter in this regard.


 

D’Souza is an educationist in Ghatkopar (West) and well-known in political circles.  She is being mentored by the state’s former minister Celine D’Silva. D’Souza had contested as united candidate of Congress-NCP-RPI in the state legislative assembly elections from Ghatkopar (West) constituency in 2009.  She is also serving as member of the education committee of Brahanmumbai Mahanagara Palike.
