Mumbai, May 22: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is reportedly in advanced discussions for a Hollywood action film backed by noted producer Lawrence Kasanoff, best known for the ‘Mortal Kombat’ franchise.
According to reports, the ambitious project is said to revolve around an inter-parallel universe concept and could mark a significant international step in Varun Dhawan’s acting career.

A source quoted in media reports stated that discussions between the actor and the Hollywood production team have been progressing steadily over the past few weeks. The report further claimed that Varun recently connected with Lawrence Kasanoff and that talks are currently at an advanced stage, though the project is yet to be officially finalised.
Meanwhile, on the Bollywood front, Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, co-starring Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, continues to generate buzz ahead of its release.
The film’s songs and teaser have already attracted attention among audiences. However, the makers recently postponed the trailer launch due to a technical issue. The trailer was originally scheduled to be unveiled at an event in Mumbai on Thursday, but the release has now been delayed, with a new launch date yet to be announced.
The film also recently found itself amid speculation regarding similarities with another project. Responding to the rumours, Tips Music issued an official clarification stating that the film is an original story and screenplay with no resemblance to any other production.
The production house further stated that the team had “poured their hearts” into the film and expressed confidence that audiences would enjoy the family entertainer upon its theatrical release on June 5.
The clarification came amid an ongoing legal dispute between Tips Music and filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani’s banner Pooja Entertainment over music and intellectual property rights.
