Mangaluru, May 17: Demonstrating its commitment towards social responsibility and educational empowerment, Billawas Qatar, in association with Sri Guru Charitable Trust and Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, organised a scholarship distribution programme for deserving and financially challenged students at Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple recently.
The programme was presided over by Billawas Qatar president Aparna Sharath.
Addressing the gathering, Aparna Sharath shared the thought behind the initiative and said, “Usually, significant amounts are spent on annual celebrations and farewell events. This year, Billawas Qatar chose a different and more meaningful path by foregoing the annual day celebration and utilising those funds for students’ education. The memories of a celebration may last only for a short time, but supporting a student’s education can transform an entire family’s future. Contributing to meaningful causes that benefit society is our true responsibility.”





















She further highlighted that Billawas Qatar is not merely a cultural organisation but a socially committed platform that has been actively conducting several meaningful and noble initiatives in Qatar, focusing on community welfare and social development.
The programme was inaugurated by MLA Umanath Kotian, who appreciated the initiative and remarked that education remains one of the strongest tools for social transformation and that such efforts encouraging deserving students deserve recognition and support.
Among the distinguished guests present were Padmaraj Kotian, Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple president Jayaraj H Somayaji, Sri Guru Charitable Trust president Seetharam H, immediate past president of the Trust Jayananda M, Billawas Qatar founder president Divakar Poojary, and mental health professional Dr Ramila R Poojary, who added value to the occasion with their presence and encouragement.
During the programme, scholarships amounting to nearly Rs 5 lac were distributed to meritorious students from various schools and colleges.
The event began with a welcome address by Jayananda M, while secretary Harindra Suvarna proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Anusha, with support from Vijay Kukkan.
Parents, students, and several dignitaries attended the programme in large numbers, making the event a memorable and meaningful success.
