Bantwal: 65-year-old scooterist dies as vehicle skids near Brahmarakootlu toll gate

Bantwal, May 17: A 65-year-old scooter rider lost his life after his two-wheeler skidded near the Brahmarakootlu toll gate at Ramalkatte on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway recently.

The deceased has been identified as P Somanath Prabhu (65), a resident of Daivagudde in Bantwal. He was unmarried. By profession, he was a photographer and was also known to be an expert in astrology.

According to sources, the tragic incident occurred when Prabhu was travelling from Mangaluru towards BC Road. As he approached the toll gate, his scooter slipped, causing him to fall and sustain severe injuries to his head.

He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Thumbe for medical assistance. However, despite the efforts of the doctors, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

A case has been registered at the Bantwal traffic police station in this regard.
