Panaji, May 16: The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (Foreigners Regional Registration Office) in Goa has intensified enforcement against visa overstays, deporting nine foreign nationals so far in May 2026 and launching a fresh inspection drive in Mandrem that identified seven additional overstaying individuals.

According to officials, the enforcement operation carried out in Mandrem on Thursday found five Russian nationals, one Ukrainian national, and one South African national overstaying in India. Authorities said necessary legal proceedings have been initiated against them.

Superintendent of Police and FRRO Goa officer Arshi Aadil said the nine deported individuals this month include five Ugandan nationals, three Russian nationals, and one Nigerian national. She added that proposals for blacklisting the concerned individuals have also been initiated under relevant legal provisions.

Officials further noted that since January, a total of 27 overstaying foreign nationals have exited the country following administrative action.

In 2025, the FRRO in Goa facilitated the deportation or exit of 120 foreign nationals, including 29 Bangladeshi citizens, as part of continued enforcement against visa violations.

Authorities reiterated that the FRRO remains committed to strict but lawful action against overstaying foreigners while ensuring that legitimate visitors are not inconvenienced. They also advised all accommodation providers to strictly comply with C-Form/Form III requirements for reporting foreign guests staying at their premises.
