Rising humidity pushes Goa temperatures higher despite pre-monsoon rain

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, May 14: Despite receiving pre-monsoon showers in several parts of the state, Goa continues to experience rising temperatures and uncomfortable humidity levels, according to officials from the Goa Meteorological Department.

Weather officials said temperatures have climbed to nearly 36 degrees Celsius, with moisture in the atmosphere after recent rainfall making conditions feel even hotter for residents.

The department noted that such weather patterns are typical during May, when high humidity and fluctuating temperatures are commonly observed across the coastal state ahead of the monsoon season.

Although some regions witnessed unseasonal rainfall over the past few days, the showers have not brought significant relief from the heat. Instead, the increased humidity following the rain has intensified discomfort in many areas.

Authorities clarified that no heatwave alert has been issued for Goa at present, even as residents continue to experience warm and humid conditions across the state.
