Beltangady, May 12: Residents of Muklikkaru under the Dharmasthala gram panchayat limits have decided to boycott the upcoming elections, expressing strong dissatisfaction over the lack of basic infrastructure in the area.
In protest, villagers have put up banners announcing their decision to stay away from the electoral process.
Locals said the road in the village is in a highly dilapidated condition, making daily movement extremely difficult. The only access road is a rough, unpaved stretch filled with stones and potholes, causing serious inconvenience to vehicles.

The village is home to around 80 families from the Malekudiya community, along with more than ten other households. Residents said the poor connectivity and absence of basic facilities have left them frustrated, ultimately forcing them to announce an election boycott.
