Udupi: Mahatma Gandhi Sabaramati Santa Award conferred on Kishore Alva

Udupi, May 9: Kishore Alva, president of Sanatana Foundation; chairman - Karnataka State Development Council of ASSOCHEM; former president of BCIC; and executive director & president of Adani Group for the State of Karnataka, was conferred with the prestigious “Mahatma Gandhi Sabaramati Santa Award” in recognition of his significant contributions towards the development and promotion of industries and commerce in the State of Karnataka.

The award was presented by Thawarchand Gehlot, governor of Karnataka, during the Mahatma Gandhi Rashtreeya Sadbhaavana Award 2026 program organized by Gandhi Smruti at the Sir M Visvesvaraya Auditorium, Bengaluru.

The recognition honours Kishore Alva’s dedicated efforts in fostering industrial growth, strengthening commerce and infrastructure initiatives, promoting investment opportunities, and contributing towards the socio-economic progress of Karnataka through various developmental initiatives and stakeholder engagements.

The occasion witnessed the presence of several eminent dignitaries including Pratap Simha Nayak, member of Karnataka Legislative Council; Pramod Madhwaraj, former minister, government of Karnataka; Sampath Raj, chairman of Dr B R Ambedkar Development Corporation Limited, department of social welfare.

The program celebrated the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and recognized individuals and institutions that have made notable contributions towards nation building, communal harmony, industrial development, and social empowerment.
