Karkala: 85 units of blood collected at donation, health camp held at MPM GFGC

Karkala, May 6: The blood donation and health check-up camp was organised by the Youth Red Cross, Rangers & Rovers and NSS unit of MPM GFGC, Karkala in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society and Blood Bank Kundapur on May 5 with the aim of promoting voluntary blood donation and spreading awareness about preventive healthcare.

The formal inauguration was marked by watering the plant, followed by a brief inaugural speech by the chief guest Jayakar Shetty. The chief guest addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives.

The program was presided over by the principal, Dr Suresh Rai K, who delivered an inspiring address on the occasion of the blood donation and health check-up camp.

A total of 85 units of blood were collected at the blood donation camp. A health check-up of the students was conducted during the blood donation camp, where blood pressure, haemoglobin level and blood group were recorded.

Mohini, YRC programme officer welcomed the guest and gathering. The programme commenced with a prayer rendered by Yajneshari of I BCom, setting a positive tone for the event.

Vinay MS, IQAC coordinator, Jyothi L Janne, ranger leader, Dr Avinash, rover leader and Chandrakanth Shenoy, NSS Programme officer were present on the occasion.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Renuka H G ,the NSS programme officer and Divya Devadiga of III Bcom compered the programme.
