Kasargod, May 5: In a strange and surprising incident, a rat snake was found with a gold ring stuck tightly around its body inside a table drawer at a house in Adoor.
The incident came to light at the residence of Ravi when children playing in the house tried to open the drawer. They were shocked to find the coiled rat snake inside. However, what surprised everyone even more was that the reptile had a gold ring tightly wedged around its midsection, which was restricting its movement.

It is suspected that the snake might have slithered into the drawer through a small gap in search of food and accidentally gotten stuck in the ring that was kept inside. Fortunately, the children did not attempt to touch the snake, averting any potential danger.
Upon being informed, forest department rescue personnel arrived at the spot. They carefully retrieved the snake from the drawer and managed to cut the gold ring without causing any harm to the reptile.
The snake was subsequently released safely into its natural habitat. The unusual incident has left local residents surprised, reminding them of the need to exercise caution while handling closed spaces and household items.
