Arizona, May 4: A 26-year-old Indian man, Sandarsh Krishna, has been reported missing from Grand Canyon National Park, prompting authorities to launch a search operation and appeal for public assistance.

According to park officials, Krishna was last seen on April 28 along the Rim Trail on Hermit Road, between Bright Angel Lodge and Mohave Point. He was reportedly spotted sometime between 4 p.m. on April 27 and midnight, wearing athletic clothing.

Authorities said Krishna does not appear to have had a personal vehicle and may have been travelling using a rideshare or taxi service. He is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build, weighing around 160 pounds, and having black hair and brown eyes.

In a key development, investigators believe Krishna was carrying a black backpack before his disappearance. The bag was later found and handed over to staff at Bright Angel Lodge around 7 a.m. by an unidentified individual. Officials clarified that the person who returned the bag is not considered a suspect but is being sought for questioning as part of the investigation.

The National Park Service has released an image of the individual who returned the backpack and is requesting the public’s help in identifying him.

Grand Canyon National Park, located entirely in the state of Arizona, spans 278 miles along the Colorado River and is one of the most visited natural landmarks in the United States. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information about Krishna’s whereabouts to come forward as search efforts intensify.
