Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, May 3: A special court on Saturday instructed the Additional Director General (Prisons) to initiate an inquiry into allegations of assault made by an undertrial inmate at Taloja jail against four prison officials.

The inmate, Sarvar Khan, claimed he was targeted by the officers after he filed complaints against them and became a witness in an alleged custodial torture case involving Arman Nafis Khan. The matter is currently linked to a writ petition pending before the Bombay High Court.

Taking note of the allegations, the court directed the ADG (Prisons) to carry out a detailed investigation, take appropriate action if required, and submit a comprehensive report within a month.

Sarvar Khan is himself facing serious charges, including alleged involvement in an organized crime syndicate. According to investigators, the group is accused of abducting and torturing two individuals in connection with a failed drug manufacturing deal in 2025.
