Uttar Pradesh, May 3: Shagun Kumar from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, has scripted an inspiring success story by securing All India Rank (AIR) 100 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, proving that determination and resilience can turn setbacks into success.
After facing five unsuccessful attempts, Shagun finally broke into the top 100 ranks, emerging as a symbol of persistence and hard work.
Shagun completed his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya and later pursued a BSc in physical sciences from the University of Delhi. He cleared the prestigious examination while simultaneously pursuing his master’s degree in sociology from the Delhi School of Economics.
The son of an Indian Air Force officer, Shagun credits his success to disciplined preparation, conceptual clarity, and a focused study plan.
Choosing Sociology as his optional subject, he concentrated heavily on answer writing practice, integrating real-world examples into his responses. He also benefited from mentorship in Sociology, which helped him strengthen his preparation strategy.
Shagun followed a structured approach throughout his preparation journey, balancing academics with UPSC studies and maintaining consistency despite repeated setbacks.
